about

Tom is the founder and principal of Tom Lontine Architect LLC, a design-focused architecture studio rooted in thoughtful, personal, and context-driven residential work. Originally from Connecticut, his lifelong curiosity about the built environment began as a child exploring construction sites and sketching floor plans. His journey in architecture has taken him across the U.S. and around the world — from studying in Italy to building homes in the Caribbean, researching public health in Ghana, and traveling throughout Asia with his family.

He holds a Bachelor of Art in Architecture from Clemson University and a Master of Architecture from Syracuse University. His professional background includes working with esteemed firms such as Joeb Moore & Partners and Hart Howerton, where he honed his approach at the intersection of architecture, landscape, culture, and art.

Now leading his own practice, he draws on a rich tapestry of life experiences — living in various homes, climates, and cultures — to inform a design process that is both analytical and deeply human. He partners closely with clients to craft homes that reflect their lives, values, and aspirations, guiding them from early concepts to final finishes with clarity, care, and creativity.
