EDITION #03

HAPPY THANKSGIVING!

Happy Thanksgiving! To those of you who are hosting, best wishes that everything comes out delicious—there’s a link to cocktail recipes below! To those of you travelling, we wish you a safe journey!

Deep River, CT | Photoshoot

With a lot planning and a bit of luck, we were able to capture the “house in the woods” at peak fall foliage this year. Studio Nicholas Venezia took some stunning shots and we’ll be sending those out into the world in the next couple months.

This preview includes images of the cantilevered guest bedroom, a cozy spot by the custom-designed fireplace, and the view from the dining table.

The clients are hosting this year and we can’t wait to hear how it went!

Old Lyme, CT | Update

We have worked through most of the exterior details for the colonial in Old Lyme. Now, just in time for the onset of colder temps, the house has been insulated and the sheetrock is going up.

The interiors will really start to take shape as the running trim, paneling, and millwork are installed—there are quite a few cozy nooks that would be a perfect hideout for when the holidays get a little hectic.

Sapia Builders

Sapia Builders construction update

I designed a small weekend cabin for my father-in-law. Now retired, he spends his time tending to his ginseng crop at the base of a mountain. My daughters love visiting their grandfather and playing in the stream that crosses through the property.

Threemarks took my 3D model and produced the beautiful “painterly” rendering above.

Cocktails by Holy City Handicraft

Miguel Buencamino of Holy City Handicraft converted his unused formal Dining Room into a very well-stocked home bar. It serves as a laboratory/studio for brand and hospitality collaborations. If you have visited Charleston, there’s a pretty good chance you’ve sipped one of his custom cocktails.

Here are a few of his recipes to try out this holiday season: 5 Fall Cocktails.

renewfinds Yoseka Stationary
Bon Bon Swedish candy company mogutable
Acre cafe

Williamsburg/Greenpoint | Brooklyn Recs

We left NYC for the ‘burbs more than 7 years ago, and recently we’ve started bringing the kiddos to our old stomping grounds. Here are some new-to-us spots that have popped up since we left.

small:1- renewfinds for funky vintage furniture 2- Yoseka Stationary for the pen nerds 3- Bon Bon for Swedish candy 4- mogutable for Japanese home goods

tall: ACRE for Japanese food and dishes

below: Birds of a Feather for when you just can’t eat another leftover turkey sandwich

With the weather cooling off, entertaining picking up, and just more time spent inside, take note of how your house supports how you want to live. If you find your needs have changed, we would love the opportunity to work with you.

I’m thankful for all the collaborators, supporters, and of course clients—old and new.

Best Wishes, Tom
